The School of Music and Magic

Music in a Time of Change

Midsummer New Moon Message!

Today, July 2, is the New Moon, traditionally a time to set intentions for the coming month.

It has been a very long time since I have posted a blog for the School of Music and Magic!

Our End-of-Year Recital took place exactly one month ago, on June 2. It was wonderful to meet so many friends and family of students! The musicians played an amazing variety of styles, from sonatas by Fernando Sor, to French pop songs, from flamenco guitar to a piano march by Strauss, and from a masterfully played Randy Newman piece to original songs penned and performed on both piano and guitar by School of Music and Magic students.

You played the music - and you brought the magic.

Summertime is here now, with its promise of long days, of sunshine and the chance to play outside, play music, and dream.

My intention for this new moon of July is to appreciate every moment of each summer day, the warm summer nights, the flowers, the bird songs, the breeze in the trees and ripping on the sea, and the chance to spend relaxing times with family and friends.

Sending you all a Midsummer wish for love and joy - and may your music thrive on this beautiful planet!
